Internationally he has played for England at U16,17,18 and U19 level before changing his alliegance and playing U20 and U23 level for Nigeria before finally getting his chance in the full Nigerian squad, for whom he has now played 7 games and scored 2 goals

His career goals to games ratio is 6.64 games per goal having played 259 times and scored 39 goals.

Sone was a non played substitute when the Rams lost the first leg of the Championship play-off semi final 0-3 at the Ipro
