Derby County will have to struggle to field a fit squad for Sunday's televised game with Blackburn Rovers. The Rams have a total of eight players sidelined with various injuries but have two players out with shoulder trouble. Stephen Pearson will be out for up to a month with his dislocated shoulder and there is no sign of Stephen Bywaters shoulder injury recovering in time to take his place in goal.

Other injuries are Claude Davis (knee),David Jones (groin), Matt Oakley (thigh),Andy Griffin (calf),Andy Todd (back) and Rob Earnshaw with the latest injury, (calf).

Added to the wounded could be Jay McEverly, who appears to have succumbed to a dodgy turkey and missed training yesterday with a stomach upset. It is hoped he will be fit enough to take his place after a sterling performance and a goal in the game against Liverpool.

Jon Macken

Manager Paul Jewell has invoked a 24 hour call back for on-loan striker Jon Macken. He returns to the Rams squad after successful spell with Championship side Barnsley. Macken has scored three goals for the Tykes in his last two games.

Another re-called loanee, Michael Johnson is also set to take his place in the squad for the game against Blackburn...
