Matt Oakley
Matt Oakley will be sadly missed by Rams fans
It's full steam ahead in the transfer market for Derby County. Yesterday saw the latest of a long string of players either coming or going out of Pride Park.

It came as somewhat of a shock to see club captain Matt Oakley leave Derby for local rivals Leicester City yesterday. He follows fellow Ram Steve Howard to the Foxes.
Oakley was sold for a knock down £500,000, a cheap enough amount when you consider he was club captain and one of the few players to come out of the first half of the Rams Premiership season with some credit.

Matt had played 61 times for Derby and scored on nine occasions, he is also the Rams second leading scorer with 3 goals this season, just one behind striker Kenny Miller. Possibly Oakleys finest hour for Derby came in the Championship Play-off final at Wembley at the end of last season. He was instrumental in taking the Rams up and not only lifted the Paly-off trophy but was voted man of the match as well.

There is no bout that Oakley will be sadly missed by Rams fans and we wish him well at his new club.

Robbie Savage
Robbie Savage set to replace Oakley as Captain but will the crowd accept him?
Coming into the club have been Robbie Savage who may well take over the Captains armband from Oakley. Savage is a controvertial player and one Rams fans loved to hate when playing for Leicester etc. It will be interesting to see how the crowd react to him in his first match at Pride Park this afternoon.

New striker Emanuel Villa has also just gained permission to play for Derby and the exciting Argentinean should add some spice to our attacking play. He will also play this weekend, partnering Kenny Miller up front.

The Rams may also be closing in on Australian striker Mile Sterjovski. The 28 year-old is rumoured to be in the mould of Mark Vaduka and was being chased by top French side St Etienne....

Meanwhile Andy Griffin makes a £300,000 move to Stoke City after a succesful medical yesterday...
