Derby County have unveiled the players they are retaining for the next season.
Twenty eight players were named but all are not expected to be still with Derby County come the 6th August.
Raul Albertosa, Ryan Shotton, Alex Pearce and Kelle Roos are expected to find new clubs, whilst Darren Bent at 32 may be released. Jake Buxton is also now 31 and could concievably be moving to another Championship or lower league team.
Chris Baird at 34 may also be either loaned out of let go to bring in younger talent to the squad.
So we could be down to a working squad of around 23 players before the new season. No word yet on any in-coming players but may try to bring through youngsters from the Academy and just fill in key positions.
One major decision needs to be made first before any hiring or firing of playing staff needs to take place and that is who will be managing, or filling a chief coach role next season. Everything would seem to depend on the manager and a choice sooner rather than later may be an advantage to any in-coming incumbent.
