Rams renew interest in Portsmouth defender

Derby County are reported to be considering bringing in a Premiership defender before the end of the season.The Rams are looking again at Andy O'Brien of Portsmouth as emergency back-up in central defence. The 27 year-old has been looked at by Billy Davies with regard to a permanent move at the start of this season, as reported on Derby County Mad. Harry Redknapp was not prepared at that early stage to release O'Brien on loan but now with the season reaching an end he may be willing to release him to the Rams, with a view to a permanent move if all parties agree at the end of the season.
