Rams pre-season starter

brews v ramsThe wait is over and again the army of Derby County fans can see their beloved team as they travel down the road to Burton Albion.

The first of this seasons friendlies is against the Brewers, a side and team that is well known to Rams manager Nigel Clough. Burton owe their league status to Clough as they blitzed the opposition last season but eventually won the league and promotion by a slender margin.

The Brewers have a former Rams at the helm, with Paul Peschisolido taking over from caretaker manager Roy MacFarland in the close season.

Derby will bring several new faces to the Pirelli Ground, one being former Brewer, Jake Buxton. The 24 year-old is expected to take the field at some stage against his former club.

Meanwhile new boys for the Rams, Lee Croft and Dean Moxey will also be on show. with trialists Mark Fotheringham, the 25 year-old midfielder from Norwich and former Leicester defender/midfielder Patrick Kisnorbo also looking to impress in the game.

The Rams will not be risking last seasons leading goal scorer Rob Hulse, who has a slight groin strain and also Kris Commons will not play due to a tight hamstring...
