You can't keep Will Hughes out of the headlines and this has been reflected in his award for Football League young player of the year. Stiff competition for this one but Hughes has many admirers, including most of the leading clubs in the Premiership, and held off the competition to win a well deserved award.

The Rams have several good young men coming through the ranks of the Academy and a possible candidate for Young player of the year for 2015 will be Mason Bennett. The 17 year-old this year won the Football Leagues young apprentice of the year award. Bennett has found it hard to break into the Rams first team squad this season and with the Rams second highest scorers in the Championship, he took his chance for first team football by being loaned out to Chesterfield FC.

The third award the club has captured for this season is for the back room staff, who have won the best digital content and audience growth award. Derby County failed this time around to make it four awards after the Community club of the Yyear award went to Brentford.

Sam Rush, Derby County CEO was on hand to pick up the awards...
