Billy McEwan leaves Pride Park after 9 years
Rams first team coach Billy McEwan is to leave the club sometime this week. Rams Manager John Gregory sees it as time “Derby County moved on”. He thanked Billy for all his good work in the nine and a bit years he has been at the club.

McEwan even had a couple of short spells as Rams caretaker manager between the departures of Jim Smith and Colin Todd

It is unclear what McEwan (51) is going to do next. Some wits have already asked if he will be joining a large contingent of ex Rams players and coaches that are currently at Middlesbrough.

McEwan leaves the Rams after 9 years, joining the Rams in November 1993. In his time as coach at Pride Park Derby County have been promoted to the Premiership, finishing as high as eight. In recent years the Rams fortunes have changed after relegation and financial problems the Rams finally part company with McEwan in 14th place in Division one.
