Rams make late bid for International Defender

Andy O'Brien is he the next Rams signing?

Andy O'brien could be the next transfer target of Derby County. The 27 year old Irish International has been told he doesn't have a future at Premiership Portsmouth even though he made 29 appearances for Pompy last season.

O'brien Started his career at Bradford City befre a £1m move to Newcastle. He joined Portsmouth at the start of last season for £2million.

Although Andy plays his International football for the Republic of Ireland he was in fact born in Harrogate, Yorkshire.

It is not thought that his transfer and registration will be completed to allow him to play in this Sundays league opener.
