Hooper is a highly successful forward during his stay with Scunthorpe, having played 84 games and scoring 44 goals, a ratio of over one goal in every two games.
Gary is an Essex boy and is only 22 years of age, so a good future looks to be ahead of him. The rumours of a move to Pride Park mention a fee of around £1m, this on the face of it doesn't seem to be great deal of money for an accomplished Championship goal scorer who has scored 14 goals in 29 starts this season.
The rumours have not yet been confirmed or denied by Derby County but we assume Scunthorpe will be looking for slightly more than predicted £1m for Hooper's services next season. He currently has a year to run on his present contract...
