Derby are now said to be lining up a loan deal for Crstal Palace striker Dwight Gayle. The 25 year-old has played on 10 occasions this season for the Eagles but they are rumoured to be willing to listen to loan deals.
Bristol City tried to buy Gayle outright and the £15m offer was accepted by Palace but Gayle failed to agree terms with Bristol and the deal fell through
Gayle has played 186 professional games scoring 101 goals in the process. He moved to Crystal Palace for £4.5, in 2013 from Peterborough United.
