Rams in £90m take-over bid

Are the Rams about to be taken over?
Derby County are said by the daily Mail to be subject to a take over bid . The paper has said that an offer has already been received by the Rams for £90m. The deal is thought to be a rather low figure of £30m for the club and Pride Park stadium and £60m for the surrounding land.

The people behind the bid are said to be former Hull chief Adam Pearson. Pearson had previously tried to buy Leeds United and has now turned to Derby County as a more lucrative target. Backing for the offer would be from multi millionaire, Peter Wilkinson who made his money from Internet dealings, being the founder of the Freeserve company. Wilkinson who is 45 is said to be a Leeds United fan.

The club has yet to make any comment on the article but it follows the claims last week that an American consortium was interested in Derby County.
