Rams have bid accepted for Coventry defender

Richard KeoghDerby County have made a move to cover the departure of central defender Jason Shackell by tabling a bid of £800,000 or Coventry City's Richard Keogh.

Coventry have accepted the bid but there is still stiff opposition for Keogh's signature as Cardiff City had hoped the 25 year old would favour them. However the Rams bid was accepted last night and Keogh has been given permission to talk to Derby County.

The chase will, not be an easy one as Cardiff, Leeds and Bristol City are interested in the Republic of Ireland U21 International .

Keogh has stated he will have talks with all interested parties but the Rams bid seems to be a very strong opening gambit. Coventry in the mean time are excited at the prospect of a bidding war for their player...
