Rams give local businessman honorary post

This week saw Adam Pearson leave the club in order to take up a position with Hull City, leaving the club in foreign, or American ownership for the first time in its 125 year history.

In a move seen by many to try and counteract the effect of the American monopoly of the Rams hierarchy local businessman Don Amott has been made a honorary Vice President. Amott was formally a non executive director of the club, something he has been since the take over of the club in January 2008.

Don was part of the Peter Gadsby consortium that took over the club in April 2006. He is now the only one of several local businessmen and women that were club owners prior to the American takeover in 2008.

Mr Amott had been having doubts about his role and the help he could give the club but after a word with former Chairman of football Adam Pearson and Tom Glick he has now been offered the honorary Vice Presidents position...
