Rams claim FA Cup record

Derby County made FA Cup history today as they fielded 15 year-old Lee Holmes.

At only 15 years old and 277 days Holmes takes over the record from Scott Enderby who played for Kettering against Tilbury when aged 15 years and 288 days in the 1977 competition.

Holmes is already Derby County’s youngest player to take the pitch in a first class game when he came on as substitute against Grimsby on Boxing Day.

The England U16 International will be brought down to Earth however as he will be back at school after his Christmas/ New Year Break on Monday morning.
