Rams Chairman Peter Gadsby will address the fans after Midnight
Derby County Chairman will be making a statement at Midnight tonight after the transfer window has closed. He has warned Rams fans not to expect too much movement in the transfer market and went on to say that many of the targeted players that Billy Davies has tried to sign have rejected the move to Pride Park.

Mr Gadsby has also said that the Rams have a history of poor purchases and sales at this time in the transfer market. They do not want to take the same route again. This news is encouraging in the fact that it is likely Giles Barnes will not be going anywhere and neither will Rob Earnshaw, or Steve Howard, all had been linked with moves away

from Derby.

Derby however really did need to bring in players to bring them up to a standard capable of competing at Premiership level and the inability to attract a new striker and creative midfield players may cost Derby County in the months ahead.

Peter Gadsby is quite right in wanting to balance the books and not panic buy as the club is just emerging from the nightmare of overspending and poor directorship over the previous five or six seasons.

It does however mean Rams fans may have to suffer at the hands of teams long established in the Premier League, starting tomorrow with a trip to Anfield and Liverpool.

We all wait with baited breathe for the witching hour to see if we have any new talent and just what Peter Gadsby has to say to all Derby County Fans.
