A Bank Holiday, a full house, fine day and two superb set of supporters what more could you ask? apart from a Rams win of course.

Derby County put on a superb display to frighten the life out of table topping Wolverhampton Wanderers, leading 2-1 with just 15 minutes to go it looked as though Derby would deservedly win the game and the three points to ensure Championship football next season.

Wolves on their way to the Premiership were made to look second rate by a Rams side desperately looking for defensive stability, and it was that defensive instability that ruined such a lovely day.

Is it just that the Rams don't have the talent in defense to cope with teams like Wolves, or is age catching up on a few of the players on the pitch in the final 15 minutes of matches?
Robbie Savage again ran himself into the ground but at 35 is time catching up with the legs? Does Andy Todd at 34 have the stamina to last a full 90 minutes in the Championship? Rob Hulse 30 this year and despite his goalscoring record looked decidedly jaded against Wolves.

Is it time for the Rams to look toward younger talent who have the stamina to last out over 90 minutes, or is the season catching up with all the Rams players as injury depletes the squad?

Well your guess is as good as ours but there does seem t be a spark now in the team and something that Nigel Clough can build upon in the summer. Defensive players are a must for next season, as Nigel now surely knows. If he can find players to add to, and enhance his defensive units then next season may be a very exciting time for all Rams fans.
