C:WindowsTempphp5A77.tmpIt has been no secret but Derby County have finally announced that Mel Morris, a local Rams fan and businessman has taken over the Chairman's job from Andy Appleby with immediate effect.

The appointment comes as no surprise as Morris was instrumental in the sacking of Steve McClaren and appointment of new Rams boss Paul Clement. Morris is a multi millionaire but it is unclear at present as to any additional investors in the club.

With new signings said to be made as early as next week it seems the new Chairman is eager to get the Rams moving in an upward direction as soon as possible.

Andy Appleby and his team have placed the Rams in a very good financial position and a well run club deserves a well run team and success. Fingers crossed that Morris and Co can deliver.
