The Rams are looking to balster their central defense by bringing back former Derby County player Jason Shackell.
The 31 year-old has been on Paul Clements radar since his appointment as new Rams head coach and Derby are prepared to pay £2m for Shackells services again.
Shackell made his name at Derby with a central defensive partnership with Shaun Barker but after just a season with the Rams Shackell was off to Burnley, who subsiquently gained promotion to the Premier league, where Shackel aquitted himself quite well despite relegation last season.
Jason will be 32 in late September of this year but that doesn't seem to have put Paul Clement off the 6ft 4 inch defender , who is expected to sign in the near future.
Shackell was an ever present in the 2011-12 season with the Rams, playing all 46 games of the league season...
