A Derby County side slide to defeat again in their penultimate friendly before the Premiership season.

This time the Rams slipped up against Crewe Alexandra, going down by two goals to nil . A fairly well matched first half was followed by a second that saw Crewe scoring via Mark Carrington in the 23rd minutes and finally clinching the match with a 70th minute strike from Julien Baudet.

The Rams fielded 19 Year old, Nottingham born midfielder Jamie Mullan of Manchester United. Mullan is a close friend of David Jones and looks to be seeking a place in the Rams squad.

Michael Johnson had to be taken off with an injury in the second half, no news as yet to the seriousness of the injury.

The Rams side was: Price, Mears (Edworthy 76) Leacock, Johnson (Addison78), Mullan (Simmons 76), Jones, Howard, Macken, Holmes.
