Gordon Guthrie and Rams managers
Gordon Guthrie (Far right) with Dave Mackay, Roy MacFarland and Paul Jewell. Just three of the twenty three former managers that Gordon has served under at Derby County football club during his six decades at the club.

As the Rams 125th year of celebration comes to an end it is fitting that one of the clubs longest serving and loyal members has been honoured in the Queen's New Years honours list. Gordon Guthrie will receive the MBE for his services to Derby County football club.

Gordon Guthrie has been at the club since the 1960's, served 23 managers during that time. He has been Physio, trainer and now is still employed by the club as Kit Manager.

Gordon has seen the good times, winning the league Championship under Brian Clough and Dave Mackay, and the bad, going down to the old Division three before rising again to the first division (Now Premiership) under Arthur Cox.

Gordon deserves the accolade after tireless devotion to the club. He is as well known to all Rams fans as any of its former or present players and has become part of the furniture both at the Baseball Ground and now Pride Park.

Happy New Year to you all From Derby County Mad...
