Rams defender Dean Leacock scored his first goal for the club from a set piece.Rob Earnshaw made his Rams debut but it was Derby County Player of the year Steve Howard who scored the second goal for the Rams in the dying minutes.
Rams boss Billy Davies played two different sides in each half, possibly because of the heat but maybe more to give everyone a chance to impress and book a Premiership berth for the coming season.
The Rams now move on to play Burton Albion away on the 23rd July K/O 7.45pm
