Henrick Ojamaa
Henrick Ojamaa despite coming on as a substitute he impressed, scoring a goal and setting up others. A well deserved score of 8 and looking good for the new season.
Arnold Town 1-5 Derby County XI

0-1 Jermaine Johnson (prodded home a Ben Pringle cross)
0-2 Ben Pringle (low hard shot from outside the penalty area)
0-3 Aleksandar Prijovic (placed shot after good work by Henrik Ojamaa)
1-3 direct from a free-kick
1-4 Henrik Ojamaa (good shot from the edge of the penalty area)
1-5 Ben Pringle (beat the offside trap, ran through, placed his shot in the corner)

Roy Carroll [6] - nothing to do really, didn't have a shot to save.

Martin Albrechtsen [6] - tackled hard, surprisingly hard given he's looking for another club, very solid, never troubled, didn't get forward.

Jermaine Johnson [7] - small for a centre-back but dominated Arnold's attackers all game, won his headers, distributed the ball well, scored the opening goal.

Tom Erik Nordberg [7] - trialist from Norway (plays for Levanger). Looked solid, never troubled, strong in the air, two good feet, had a tendency to jump in and intercept which against Arnold he did very well but would he get away with that against quicker players? How do you impress in a game like this? Limped off with what looked like a hamstring injury.

Jordan Stewart [6] - again never really troubled, got forward in support of Ben Pringle, a very solid game.

Jason Beardsley [6] - didn't know he could play right midfield and, to be honest, he played like a right back in midfield. Got forward and put some crosses in but never really took on his man. Moved to centre-back when Nordberg went off and looked comfortable there.

Arnaud Mendy [7] - looked very impressive in the first half, tackled well, good vision, passed well with a range of different passes, linked play, got forward well and had a couple of chances to score. Faded after the break - not sure if this was because he tired or because he didn't have the quality of Stephen Pearson alongside him. Needlessly gave away the free-kick that saw Arnold Town score their goal.

Stephen Pearson [7] - captained the side and looked quality. Bossed the midfield with demonstrable quality, linked up well with Arnaud Mendy, showed good vision when passing, but still looks short of match fitness.

Ben Pringle [9] - man of the match without a doubt. On this showing he has it all, good pace and ability to beat a defender and put over a good cross, can tackle, has the vision to pass well, and knows where the back of the net is. Two quality goals and an assist too. Can he do it against a higher level of opposition is the question? Moved into centre midfield when Greg Mills came on.

Steve Davies [7] - worked hard, looked lively, tackled well, more involved than Aleksandar Prijovic, but didn't have any chances to score.

Aleksandar Prijovic [6] - showed some nice touches on the deck but didn't really impress against lowly opposition, didn't win many headers, had a couple of air shots, but did score a good goal.

Substitutes:

Ross Atkins (for Carroll) [6] - hardly had anything to do and stood no chance with Arnold's well taken free-kick for their goal.

Mark Dudley (for Stewart) [6] - looked solid enough but didn't get forward much.

Greg Mills (for Pearson) [6] - usually a right winger, he was very much a right-footed left winger and missed a few opportunities to cross because he had to cut back and get the ball onto his right foot, saw plenty of the ball, gets forward well, and involved in most of Derby's second half attacks. Would like to see him again on the right wing.

Henrik Ojamaa (for Davies) [8] - an impressive display, always wanted the ball, always a handful for Arnold's defenders, scored a good goal, did brilliantly well to set-up Prijovic's goal, unlucky not to score a hat-trick...
