C:WindowsTempphpBE95.tmpThe speculation has now been substanciated as Paul Clement has taken the reigns at the Ipro Stadium. He has joined on a three year deal.

The 43 year-old former Real Madrid, PSG ad Chelsea coach, now takes his first steps in management and says he is proud to be coming to Derby.

Paul says he is a little aprehensive of his first job in charge but is looking forward to meeting the squad at the end of this month as pre-season training begins

Sam Rush had a big part in the move according to Clement, as the Rams CEO beat several other leading clubs to his target. Rush and the owners are confident that Paul will give them the impetus needed to take Derby County to the next level, which is Premiership football.

Clement will now become the highest paid head coach in the Championship, but has taken a pay cut from his job at Real Madrid to come to Derby.

We all wish him well and the success we all crave.
