Paul Anderson
Paul Anderson, dubbed the next Michael Owen could be a Rams target for a season long loan.
Rams are reported to be looking into bringing Liverpool teenager Paul Anderson (19) to Pride Park. Paul Jewell enjoys many Liverpool connections from his days there as a striker and sees the talented winger as part of his rebuilding plans.

Anderson was born in Leicester so knows the East Midlands well. Liverpool took the youngster under their wing in 2006 and although he hasn't broken into the first team he did make the subs bench for a Champions League match against Benfica and played in pre season friendlies for the scousers.

Paul also enjoyed his time with the Liverpool U 18 side, winning the FA Youth Cup in 2006. His International career so far has been four appearances at U19 level for England, scoring one goal.

A contract extension in 2006 sees Anderson with Liverpool until 2010, although he has spent much of his time last season out on loan with Swansea, playing 31 times and recording 7 goals. Hew Jenkins, Swansea Chairman is said to be keen on signing Anderson on a full time basis. Nottingham Forest are also said to be interested in the winger, who can play on either wing.

During his time on Merseyside Paul was tipped to be the next Michael Owen. If he is half as good as Owen the Rams should be pulling out all the stops to ensure that Paul is at Derby County at the start of next season. Another alternative is talks to bring Anderson to Derby on a year long loan from Liverpool...
