Georgi Kinkladze is to leave Derby County.

Bye Bye Kinky
This was the message no Rams fan wanted to see. Yet again Derby County’s player of the Year will be leaving the club. Last season it was the fans vote for defender Danny Higginbotham who won the prestigious trophy that is voted for by the fans and promptly moved on to Premiership Southampton.

Kinky has turned down a new two-year contract with the Rams saying, “It is finally decided that I am leaving Derby, but for the moment I don’t know where I will go”.

It looks like Kinkladze has had enough of the poor management and wrangles with officials at the club stating, “I will choose the team with serious intentions”. Seemingly Georgi feels that there is no leadership at the club and wants to move to a club that has.

Kinky’s move may even take him out of the country and it is a sad day for football fans everywhere in England if he chooses to show his scintillating skills on foreign shores.

Not many players in the last four seasons or so have given so much entertainment as Georgi Kinkladze and I for one will miss him next season.
