Derby County have finally completed the loan signing of Sunderland's Jonathan Stead. The twenty Three year-old signed on a three month deal that ends on the 2nd January.

In an interview at Moor Farm earlier today Stead was very eager to get to regular first team football and was pleased to have Steve Howard as his strike partner. Stead believes he can feed off the Howard and hopefully return the compliment during the loan spell. Jonathan revealed he had been having talks with Derby County for around a week prior to today's signing.

Stead sees the loan signing as a chance to regain form but would not be pushed when asked if he would like the move to be a permanent one. Stead just saying he would do his best when at Pride Park and then see what happens.

Rams boss Billy Davies looked very pleased at the press conference this lunch time and is expected to put Stead straight into the starting line up against Plymouth this Sunday (1.15pm kick-off.
