Johnson calls Rams fans a disgrace
Michael Johnson has labelled Derby County fans as “disgraceful” after the crowd at Saturday's game against Southend started to boo when Seth Johnson took the ball to the corner flag in an effort to waste time at the end of the game.

Johnson's actual words were "Those who were booing Seth Johnson near the end for taking the ball to the corner flag when we were three goals up in front are a DISGRACE. It's a complete nonsense. The crowd can help us enormously by getting behind us for 90 minutes. They should consider the facts- a new board, a new manager, so many new players I'm losing count and a new style. If certain people can't see the transformation steadily taking place, then it must be me who is losing the plot".

A report in today's “SUN” newspaper by David Moore states that Billy Davies has labelled some Pride Park supporters “Remarkably Impatient”. Moore also points out that Davies has led Preston, his former charges, “to successive promotion play-offs”.

A similar remark by then Rams boss Phil Brown during last season saw the crowd very angry at the comment and ultimately seemed to be one of the contributing factors to his dismissal.

What is your view on the time wasting tactic, when three goals up against inferior opposition and the three points in the bag? MAIL US HERE.

Our own thoughts on the matter here at Derby County Mad are that Michael Johnson should consider- who are the main source of income to the club, That supporters pay to watch entertaining football rather than the home side playing for time. The Derby County supporters have, in our opinion, been very, very patient over many years. Maybe they are now getting almost too expectant but negative football will always get the same reaction, especially when there is no need for it.

To waste time in the position they were in on Saturday is not giving the crowd value for money, it can also not be excused as tactical play to ensure the three points are safe, as they already were. It serves no apparent purpose and obviously inflamed the crowd who wanted to see more attacking football given the position of the game.
