Mr Gregory has chosen to appeal against the decision and Lionel Pickering will hear this as and when practicable.
Derby County officials refused to comment more on the situation until the appeal has been heard.
The decision to remove John Gregory now leaves the Rams without a manager as George Burley has returned to his home near Ipswich to sort out his affairs. It is not clear if any approach will or has been made to Mr Burley concerning the now vacant post.
After all Derby County’s troubles on and off the pitch this season it is not looking good for next season. Derby County could do with sorting out contract details with several first team players and should a new manager be appointed it is not certain that he would want all of those players.
