The Tigers have lost interest in signing Johnson on a free transfer since they learned that the 28 year-old needed an operation on a knee injury and would be out of action until late December or the New Year.
Johnson was looking to rejuvenate his career at the KC stadium but will now have to stay at Pride Park for the foreseeable future
