It was a busy day in the transfer market around the Country yesterday and the Rams have added to their squad by bringing in Ikechi Anya for £3.5m and a surprise goalkeeping changeas 34 year old Chris Weale comes in as cover for loaned out Lee Grant, who moves to Premiership stoke City on loan.
Meanwhile an eleventh hour move for Striker Chris Martin sees him move down to London and join Fulham on a season long loan. The loan could be made permanent and a clause stating this is in the loan deal.
Martin will also not be allowed to play against the Rams when they meet in the league, whilst he is a loan player.
Chris Weale has moved to Derby after his contract at Yeovil ran out. He had been on a loan spell with Burton Albion and previously goalkeeping coach with Yeovil. His move is to cover the departure of Lee Grant on loan to Stoke. Rams manager Nigel Pearson has worked with Weale during his time at Leicester City.
