Paul Green hoping to make a return to the first team on Boxing day
The Rams are hoping for a Christmas lift if midfielder Paul Green is ready to play again after injuring two fingers in the Carling Cup Quarter Final against Stoke.

The injury was so severe that Green needed surgery to insert plates to hold the fingers in place but after three weeks out Green may be in contention for a place in the Boxing Day squad to face Preston North End.

Green has trained with the youth squad and reported no problems with the injury and after missing four first team games his return will be a welcome boost to Paul Jewell as the Rams seek back to back wins. The Rams recent form without Green was two losses a draw and last Saturday's win...
