Speculation on the reasoning behind the appointment of Darren Wassall and not a new permanent manager/coach, has been squashed by Derby County after several instances of FFP being behind the appointment.
Darren Wassall has been appointed until the end of the season and the club has said that this was because he was the right person to take over the reigns at this moment in time.
Speculation on on-line internet media sites had fuelled the speculation on the reason being a fear of going over the FFP (Financial Fair Play) threshold.
Whether this is the right course of action remains to be seen, but at least Wassall knows all of the players and set up at the club, preventing further disruption and hopefully getting the Rams back to winning ways.
