Ex Soldier told he can't fly his Rams flag

Rams fans have been happily flying flags since the Championship play-off semi Finals way back in May of this year, but now it seems in Hilton Derbyshire that that must stop due to advertising laws.

Life long Derby County Fan Robert Hicking was ordered to take down a flag he had placed on his roof of his Hilton home or face fines of up to £2,500 for breaking Town and Country planning regulations.

Mr Hicking has said that he will comply with the order and take down the offending flag and donate them to the soldier of the Worchester regiment to fly in Afghanistan. Robert who was a soldier for 30 years now plans to fly the flag of St George on his property.

A spokesperson for the South Derbyshire District Council said "It's against the Town and Country planning regulations to fly a flag that contains an advertisement and a football club flag would fall into that category".
