The former QPR, Sampdoria and Sunderland forward has been draughted in as cover for injuries to Junior and Mathias Svensson.
"We can't guarantee Danny a place in the starting line up at the moment and he needs games," confirmed George Burley. "He's going to go to Derby for a month and we'll see what happens after that."
