C:WindowsTempphp10E0.tmpDerby County have this morning completed a season long loan of Leon Best from Blackburn Rovers.

The move is to provide competition and back-up for lead striker Chris Martin and comes in time for the start of the new campaign to reach the Premier League.

Best was born in Nottingham, so knows the Derby area quite well and despite a bad knee ligament injury a season ago has a career goal per game ratio of 4.25, so on average if he plays all the league games this season he should weigh in with 10.8 goals this season for Derby County.

He had signed for Blackburn on the 2nd July 2012 for a figure over £3m but less than a month after signing he was injured with anterior critiate liagment damage. This took a six month chunk out of Best's first season with Rovers. He then only played in 16 competative games for Rovers, scoring just twice. Ironically his first league goal for Rovers was against Derby County  Just one year to the day (4th August 2013) in a 1-1 draw at Pride Park, before being loaned to the Rams

He now looks for a new challenge with the Rams, after a succesful loan last season with Sheffield Wednesday, scoring six goals in just 14 appearances...
