Derby County are begining to show their intent to storm the Championship table this coming season. With Darren Bent, Alex Pearce and Scott Carson already in the fold Derby County have now secured the services of Andreas Weimann, a former colleague of Darren Bent at Aston Villa.
The fee for Weimann is said to have been £2.75m and he joins Derby on a four year deal. Under Paul Lambert at Villa Weimann scored 12 goals, but subsiquent managers failed to inspire him and has been in and out the team and scoring only 10 goals in the last two seasons at Villa Park
His overall Villa scoring record was 24 goals in 91 starts and 35 sub appearances. It is hoped that a drop down to the Championship and the tutelage of Paul Clement he will again blossom.
