Congratulations go to Rams manager Billy Davies after being confirmed as the Coca-cola Championship manager of the month. The award is the first in ten years for a Derby County manager, the last being awarded to the Bald Eagle, Jim Smith back in 1996.

Davies wins the award after guiding the Rams to six straight wins during the month of November. The consistancy of the Derby side during the month helped Billy to pip Former Rams player Paul Simpson to the award.

Others considered for the MOTM award were former Rams boss George Burley but his closest rival was Tony Pulis of Stoke City. The potters winning all five of their games during November without conceading a single goal.

Hopefully, as traditionally happens, the form of Derby County will not suffer for the award, although they have already lost their

first game of the December period.

When asked about the award Davies praised his players and staff at Pride Park for the remarkable turn around in form and for their efforts. He dedicated the award to them all.

The Rams now look to regaining their winning ways with a tricky away fixture at Elland Road. The match is a traditionally bad tempered affair and with Leeds struggling to avoid relegation it will a test of character we all hope they pass.
