With less than a week until the end of the 2008-09 Championship season, manager Nigel Clough is already looking toward who will be wearing the black and white for the Rams next season.

Clough has already stated that he and the club needs to get rid of several players from the playing staff but has now said he is looking to bring in around half a dozen "new faces".

There are contrasting views as to how much will be spent on transfers next season but with supporters urged to re-new season tickets nearly a month before the old season finishes. Expectations were for money to be laid out on quality players to avoid a repeat of this seasons relegation battle but Clough has already said "A lot of money was spent in the last 12 months, so we know there's not going to be fortunes but maybe three or four fees and a couple of free transfers."

The Rams boss is hopefully of picking up at least four players for fees and make the half dozen up with free transfers. As yet the players earmarked for departure have not been named but it is expected that all of the players currently on loan to the club will return to their respective teams.
