Clough assault claim by Davies

Billy Davies and Nigel Clough alledged incident
Billy Davies claims to have been kneed in the back of the legs by Clough but our photograph clearly shows Clough to be at the side of Davies at this point in the clash of players and managment.
Funny how losing a game against your biggest rivals brings out all the sour grapes. Certainly in the case of Billy Davies, the diminutive manager of Nottingham Forest has claimed an alledged assault by Rams boss Nigel Clough.

Davies has claimed he was kneed from behind by Clough whilst trying to seperate players as they clashed near the end of Saturday's game.

The incident has now been refered to the FA who have asked for video evidence of the incident. If the claim is upheld by the FA Clough could face a heavy fine, or ban from the touch line.

Our photograph tends to suggest that Davies could have been the one trying to climb up to seperate players and Clough just came to lend a hand and possibly inadvertantly stepping on Davies, after all he isn't the tallest manager in the Championship.

Both clubs are under a suspended £10,000 fine following ridiculous scenes sparked off at the City Ground earlier this season as Forest won and Nathen Tyson taughnted the Rams fans by waving a corner flag.

Clough should hear later this week if any action will be taken against himself and the club...
