Christie and Riggott deal still in the air

Derby County’s official website www.dcfc.co.uk has denied that Malcolm Christie and Chris Riggott have been sold to the Teesside club.

Although medicals have been completed and talks have been on going between Middlesbrough and the Rams for some time, final arrangements have not been completed for the moves.

It is thought the stumbling block may well be the assurance that Middlesbrough will complete the signings of the pair for around £3.5million in the summer following their 3-month loan spell.

The Rams may well be looking for a pre-payment of the money to alleviate their financial problems.

It now looks as though Southampton’s apparent interest in Danny Higginbotham is now at an end. The South coast club has not been in touch with Derby County over the 24 year-old defender.
