Female steward gives Canary fan a rough ride
Derby County Stewards come in for criticism from one Norwich City fan.

The fan who's name was not revealed on “THE NEST” website was incensed with a female Senior Derby County Steward refused him entry to Saturday's game, claiming he was drunk and duly took his ticket off of him.

The Canary fan insisted he was not drunk at all and managed to convince Policemen standing by to have a word with the unrepentant steward but all to no avail.

The guy then went to our own ticket office and managed to obtain another ticket for the game but in the Derby County supporters section. A scenario that could have cause a more severe incident had the Norwich fan not been so level headed and obviously not drunk at all.

After a trouble free game the fan then approached the main entrance of Pride Park to vent his anger and disappointment with the Derby County Steward. A senior Derby County official listened to the complaint and issued an apology, refund and promise of free tickets for the next game between Derby County and Norwich.

The whole incident has left the supporter with a tainted view of stewarding within Derby County Football Club. Personally speaking I have always found stewards at Pride Park to be quite good but you can't legislate for one female with a problem she feels needs taking out on a poor member of the paying public. I hope she is ashamed of her actions, is given extra training in dealing with situations such as these and that this sort of incident doesn't happen again at Pride Park.
