Buxton to undergo operation

Jake Buxton could be out of action as he undergoes a groin and stomach operation today

With the players reporting back this week for pre-season training it was hoped that most of the players would be available but a persistant groin and stomach problem has forced Jake Buxton to undergo surgery.

Buxton has been troubled with the problem and missed the last 10 games of last season through it. The Rams medical team and specialists have been mystified by the injury and now feel surgery is the only option.

The operation will take place today and will leave Buxton unable to train for at least a month and maybe up to two months. It is then hoped that Buxton will be fit and ready to try and re-claim his position in the Rams team...
