The 47 year-old former Ipswich manager is to join the Rams on a two year deal. This follows Burley's successful six match interim stint as Rams manager at the end of last season, keeping the Rams from a second successive relegation.
Burley's task will not be easy as he prepares to sort out a squad that is severely depleted through players being sold, contracts being cancelled and contracts not being renewed.
Several key players have recently refused to renew their contracts, although the appointment of Burley could alter some players minds.
