Burley: Poom goal was fantastic

The Black Cats keeper, on his return to the club that sold him in January, headed home a Sean Thornton corner in stoppage time to deny the Rams three points.

There's a saying in football former players will come back to score against the teams they left, but I've never heard of it being a goalkeeper," reflected Burley afterwards.

"It was a fantastic header, in fact I've never seen a better header than than in my life," said Burley after the game.

"It's definitely the goal of the season for me. He's 6ft 4in tall and he leaps nine feet in the air to put it in the top corner.

"Sunderland are a very good side, but when you take the lead in the 90th minute you do expect you're going to get the three points.

"But we were a little bit naive after we scored because we should have seen the game out."
