Paul Boertien, looks for a new club

Former Rams defender Paul Boertien is having talks with Oldham Athletic, with a view to re-starting his career after Derby County released him at the end of the 2006-07 season.

Paul may also be looking to move to his home town of Carlisle and Bradford City are also said to be interested in signing the 28 year-old.

Boertien came to Derby from Carlisle in 1999 for £250,000 and made 114 appearances for Derby. Injury forced him to miss large periods of the season from 2004 onwards. A return to the first team in August 2006 was a huge relief to Paul but another cruel injury on Boxing Day 2006 saw the final nail in his Derby County career.
