The Bald Eagle swooping for Burton?
Former Rams boss Jim Smith, now assistant manager at Coventry City is looking for loan deals to strengthen Coventry City's Premiership promotion bid.

Rumours of a shopping trip back to Pride Park have emerged and Smith is said to be keen on taking Rams striker Deon Burton on loan.

Burton who was signed by Smith from another of his former clubs Portsmouth and is currently finding it difficult to find a starting role in the Derby County attack.

Transfer listed Burton could be on his way as early as next week if the Rams are agreeable.

The 26 year old striker could be tempted to drop down a division and join his old manager as regular first team football would undoubtably interest Burton, who seems to have lost the scoring touch in recent months and is now falling behind in the strikers pecking order at Pride Park.
