The 28 year old defender has signed a three year deal and he is capable of playing in either the right or left back position, giving Billy Davies more options in his defence.
Griffin is the 7th Signing so far this summer for the Rams but there has been no mention of any fee paid to Portsmouth for his services. His wealth of experience in the Premiership comes from spells with Newcastle and Portsmouth, who he joined from the Toon in 2004.
