Martin Albrechtsen out for a month after hernia operation
Disappointing news today as Rams key defender Martin Albrechtsen was sidelined for at least a month after undergoing a hernia operation.

The decision to undergo the operation was taken after and it went ahead this morning (Tuesday 7th October). The recovery from this type of operation will see Martin out of action for at least a month.

The lay-off is good news for Albrechtsen's hamstring problem, which forced him out of the game against Birmingham at Pride Park on the last day of September. The lay-off will allow the damaged hamstring to recover in time for him to resume light training.

Manager Paul Jewell is now wondering what his best options are for the central defensive partnership after Albrechtsen's partner in defense, Dean Leacock also misses the next Derby County game against Plymouth through suspension.

Lewin Nyatanga and Claude Davis may be used but an emergency loan move may not be ruled out...
