The Rams reserves now have to hope for other teams losing to be in with a chance of winning the FA Barclaycard Premiership reserve league southern section again this season.
The current table looks like this after Ipswich's victory over Southampton reserves.
Team | P | W | D | L | F | A | W | D | L | F | A | Dif | Pts |
1 Ipswich Town | 24 | 9 | 1 | 2 | 28 | 8 | 7 | 3 | 2 | 21 | 14 | 27 | 52 |
2 Arsenal | 25 | 7 | 3 | 2 | 20 | 8 | 8 | 2 | 3 | 26 | 16 | 22 | 50 |
3 DERBYCOUNTY | 25 | 11 | 0 | 2 | 31 | 13 | 4 | 5 | 3 | 15 | 16 | 17 | 50 |
The situation will get very interesting if Ipswich fail to take any points off of Tottenham Hotspur reserves when they meet next Monday (29th April). This would mean that the Rams would play Ipswich away (1st May) and the winner would lift the trophy.

However our near neighbours Leicester City have also to play their part by beating Arsenal reserves away from home or at least take a point off them.
Which every way you look at it the title race will have been very close this season and how costly will that 0-1 lose at home (9th April) to rivals Nottingham Forest be when the final games are played?
